An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Occupational Health Technician to join the team on a Permanent basis.

Reporting to the Occupational Health Manager you will be responsible for undertaking health surveillance of colleagues across supply sites in the North region.

You will be based at our Balliol Supply site in Longbenton, Newcastle upon Tyne; however, there will be some flexibility to work from home.


£27K-£28K depending on experience

Work Pattern and Contracted Hours

The full-time working requirement for this vacancy is for 40 hours over Monday-Friday. However, we will also consider suitable candidates wishing to work part-time on reduced hours.

There will be a requirement to work both early and late shifts to conduct assessments.

What you'll do

  • Conduct base line screenings / health surveillance according to Greggs Health Surveillance Matrix and legislative requirements. 
  • Maintain up-to-date electronic / paper records in accordance with data protection requirements
  • Undertake tasks to support the OHA with appointments and related occupational health administration
  • Assist with health promotion and wellbeing initiatives
  • Management and maintenance of all relevant technical equipment (spirometer, audiometer, Keystone), systems and processes;
  • Review new starter Health Assessment forms and refer any areas of concern to OHA
  • Provide support for other business initiatives as required

About you

  • Competent at undertaking audiometry, spirometry tests and standard screening questionnaires such as for drivers, night workers, cold workers, skin screening
  • At least one year’s experience in undertaking health surveillance
  • Good IT skills
  • Strong communications skills (both verbal and written)
  • Flexibility around working hours as may be required to work different shifts
  • Driving Licence 
  • Ability to prioritise and manage own workload
