An opportunity has arisen for in Infrastructure Engineer to join the network and infrastructure team based in Newcastle.  The Greggs N&I team is responsible for the installation and maintenance of all new servers / services and data communication links within Greggs House HQ, regional offices and retail space. Reporting to the Infrastructure Manager, you will assist the team in a busy and progressive IT & BC function in supporting the data centre services, retail services and supply chain resources with the ever growing digital landscape.  A flexible working attitude is essential as there is a requirement for weekend and evening work.  There will also be a requirement to take part in the out-of-hours, on-call rota which covers key system areas.

Salary

Up to £36,000 per annum, depending on experience.

Work Pattern

Working mainly day-shift Monday to Friday but flexibility is required to work weekends and nights to support the "out-of-hours" call out rota.

Job Description

The Network and Infrastructure department is responsible for the installation and maintenance of all new servers and data communication links within Greggs House and regional offices.  Reporting to the Infrastructure Manager, you will assist the department in supporting the data centre and communications areas around the regional offices and associated equipment within.  A flexible working attitude is essential as there is a requirement for weekend and evening work.  There will also be a requirement to take part in the out-of-hours on-call rota which covers key system areas.

  • Virtual and Physical Server Build, Installation and Management
  • Datacentre Management and Monitoring
  • DR and BCP Implementation and Testing
  • Storage Area Network Installation and Management
  • Infrastructure Monitoring
  • Networked Systems Monitoring
Essential Skills
  • Management of virtualisation environments (VMWare)
  • MS Active-Directory management and maintenance experience
  • Application Deployment knowledge – MS AD GPO / DesktopCentral desirable
  • OS Deployment and updating experience – MS WSUS, MS WDS desirable
  • Management of MS Exchange 2013 including backup, maintenance and migration
  • Palo Alto or Similar Firewall technology
  • Management Endpoint Security experience – McAfee desirable
  • Alerting and monitoring knowledge - Solarwinds
  • Backup and Recovery Technologies – Veeam desirable
  • Strong communication and customer support skills
  • Good inter-personal skills and a flexible working attitude
  • Ability to plan, organise and solve problems
Desirable Skills
  • Knowledge and/or experience of enterprise network WAN and LAN disciplines – HPE, Cisco.MS Azure experience – SCCM, O365, Intune desirable.
  • Cloud IaaS/PaaS/SaaS knowledge – AWS and/or Azure
  • Mobile Device Management experience – Airwatch desirable
  • Dell Server Hardware
  • Knowledge of VIOP and SIP systems
