Permanent. Full time or flexible working hours will be considered.


Circa £30,000 per annum FTE. Pro-rated for part time

Work Pattern

This is a full time role (40 hours) however flexibility in this will be considered.

What you'll do

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced People Adviser.  The main focus of the role will be around compliance and will include the following:

  • Expert in the field of Right to Work, having responsibility for visa management across all areas of the organisation ensuring that no Greggs employee works beyond their visa expiry date without new documents in place
  • Lead audit compliance on new starter Right to Work paperwork
  • Develop and maintain employee data retention policy and protocols
  • Lead on reviewing and updating privacy notices relevant to the People Team
  • Undertake reporting for Article 52 and Article 55 in line with Northern Ireland legislation requirements
  • GDPR champion for the People Support and wider Central People Team
  • Maintain up to date knowledge on changes in legislation
  • Supporting the development and application of legislative requirements across the People Team, contributing to training material content where required
  • Developing a strong understanding of the wider activities within the people Support centre and wider People Central Operations team to provide appropriate support

About you

  • Previous experience in a similar role
  • Previous experience of providing professional expertise and advice on the effective implementation of people policies and practices;
  • Experience of supporting and coaching department managers and team leaders to ensure an effective understanding of their role and responsibilities with regards to people policies and procedures 
  • Effective thinking and problem solving skills
  • Excellent organisation skills with strong attention to detail
  • Effective communication and influencing skills across all levels
  • High levels of professionalism and confidentiality
  • Excellent numeracy/literacy skills and confidence with MS Office, particularly MS Excel
  • CIPD or equivalent qualification would be desirable.
