We have an exciting opportunity for someone as a Central Planning Coordinator to join us on a Permanent basis, based at Greggs House in Newcastle Upon Tyne but currently home working.

The successful candidate will be an integral part of the Central Planning Team, the main focus of this role will be to plan production and distribution of Greggs made products, based on the Demand Plan and actual orders.

Typically, this will involve planning requirements out over a 2 week horizon, although some lines will require a more forward reaching view.

£22,015

Shift Pattern and Contracted Hours

Sunday to Thursday 8am until 4pm, but flexibility is required.

What you'll do

  • Develop and apply a knowledge of production constraints, production line capacity/outputs and logistics routings/timings.
  • Calculate production and replenishment plans across all levels of primary supply chain, on daily and weekly basis, based on demand plans and actual orders.
  • Ensure that inventory levels within the supply chain are balanced and maintained against agreed stock holding targets to ensure availability to pick, whilst minimising risk.
  • Compiling and investigating reported stock levels, and preparation of stock status reports as required.
  • Ensure availability of timely & accurate information of replenishment requirements & distribution plans for daily and weekly planning processes.
  • Entering transactional details on appropriate systems (SAP)
  • Reacting to daily variations and creating / finding potential solutions to issues / constraints to ensure supply
  • Updating production and logistics plans to provide forward visibility to key functions within supply chain, working across numerous cross-functional teams.
  • Escalation of potential issues that may lead to interruptions in supply
  • Maintain relevant planning data in appropriate systems
  • Undertaking periodic project work and analysis to support ongoing works
  • Preparation of summary reports for weekly updates
  • The role may require some travel to production sites in order to undertake line reviews and aid overall and effective communications.

About you

You’ll fit right in at Greggs as a Central Planning Coordinator if:

 

  • You have excellent computer skills as they are essential in this role, most notably an ability to work effectively with Excel
  • You can show strong verbal and written communication skills
  • You have a good working knowledge of internal systems is advantageous, with an ability to manage data, analyse information and resolve problems
  • You have an ability to diagnose and implement practical process improvements
  • You are results focussed with an ability to work cross-functionally and at different levels
  • You can show strong analytical, planning and organising skills
  • You have some knowledge and experience in a Production/Logistics role would be advantageous, but is not essential.
